This year the Oregon State Fair is opening a "Chill Out" room to children and adults with disabilities who may need to take a break from all the excitement of the fair. Usually, parents have to fight for benches to take a break so this might be very helpful.
When I listened to the NPR story on April 11th on the family of an 18 year old with autism, I thought, "This is the best I have heard to date." No kidding. It was super short and I think worth listening to. The story covered financial planning, parents worried about their son when they die, the need for more housing options and more.
