Victory Academy
Located in Lake Oswego, Oregon, Victory Academy opens its doors in September 2009. This year-round, private Academy serves students with Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders.
Victory Academy offers its students--children with unique learning differences--a customized approach to education. All students receive an individual plan, provided by highly qualified teachers and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), to enhance and challenge the student’s current academic knowledge, fine and gross motor skills, language and communication, and social/peer engagement.
Victory Academy respects the strengths and struggles of each child, promoting learning and growth through a balance of structure and play. Careful attention is paid to the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of each student.
Each classroom is staffed by one teacher and two teaching assistants. The approximate ratio of students to adults is 8:3. Once the school receives its non-profit status, other specialists will be hired to work with Victory Academy students. In essence, Victory Academy students will receive all the services they require and deserve “under one roof”. Families should not have to schedule for services or therapies outside of the school day.
